Crafting Musical Gourds
Saturday, June 1 9:00am – 4:00pm
Craft your own Dejembe drum with gourd artist Rosario Wilke. Participants will choose their own embellishments, and use carving tools and lacing, painting and tinting techniques to create a working musical instrument.

Join Mingei for a day trip to Gardena, CA to visit the glassblowing studio of artist Stephen Woodruff, the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach and lunch at Café Viva.
