AT THE MUSEUM
Mingei International Museum offers students and teachers an unusual opportunity to interact with the arts of daily life from all eras and cultures of the world. The Museum's diverse collection includes 17,500 objects from 141 countries spanning 23 centuries. Stunning exhibitions enlighten students about the joy in making, by hand, useful objects of timeless beauty, and they provide lessons in topics as wide ranging as geography, mathematics, history and anthropology. Museum tours frequently inspire student projects such as pottery, basketry, wood carving, mask-making and paper-folding.

Mingei International's meaningful and enjoyable docent-led tours are available at any grade level for San Diego and Baja California students.

Docent school tours are complimentary with Museum admission. Students from Title-1 designated schools are admitted free - please contact the Education Department for more information. All school tours must be scheduled in advance.
