AT THE MUSEUM
Mingei International Museum offers students and teachers an unusual opportunity to interact with the folk art, craft and design from all eras and cultures of the world. The Museum's diverse collections include more than 19,600 objects from 141 countries spanning 23 centuries. Stunning exhibitions enlighten students about the joy in making, by hand, useful objects of timeless beauty, and they provide lessons in topics as wide ranging as geography, mathematics, history and anthropology. Museum tours frequently inspire student projects such as pottery, basketry, wood carving, mask-making and paper-folding.

Mingei International's meaningful and enjoyable docent-led tours are available at any grade level for San Diego and Baja California students.

Docent school tours are complimentary. Admission is free for all scheduled K-12 school groups. Funding for transportation is available for Title I schools. For more information, contact the Education Department, 619-239-0003 ext. 107, or education@mingei.org.
